Our Wedding Muse Shares her Bridal Boudoir Story—the perfect gift for the Groom AND Bride!

I wanted to do something fun and slightly out of the norm for myself as well as wanting to give my significant other a gift for our wedding. Throughout the experience it became a lot less about the groom’s gift for him, and so much more about the experience I was giving to myself.

In the last few years, I have become consumed with the identity of mother, caretaker and provider. If I am not working, I am parenting. My photos remind me of who I am outside of those roles, that I EXIST outside of those roles and have a fun and flirtatious side of me that is alive and well.

I have worked through a lot of insecurities from my youth about my physical appearance. My photos remind me about how far I’ve come from that place of wanting to hide certain features. Now I feel proud of all of the imperfections.

They make me feel empowered in my body. Beautiful and Strong. Not only do they make me feel seen, but also like someone who has nothing to hide. Take me as I am or not at all. THIS IS ME!

I gained a renewed sense of appreciation for myself, my body, and the spirit that is still seeking fun and exploration. There is a confidence boost that has been helping me feel calmer in my day to day. I’ve found an added bit of perspective that I am more than my job, my relationship, and my kids.

Betsy is kind, supportive and helpful throughout the entire process, and was also patient with me at certain points when I felt hesitant or had reservations. I have been interested in boudoir for a long time, I wanted to disconnect from my day to day demands and responsibilities to reconnect with the carefree spirit inside that is so often put aside and doesn’t get to come out and play much anymore.

All these needs and desires were beyond met through this experience with Betsy! Months later when I need a little pick me up, I go back to the pictures, and they always make me smile 😊

If you’re on the fence about doing a session for yourself, do it! You won’t regret it, it’s such a positive experience.
